I have had many discussions with my friends about this topic.. that is, whether the single life is a legitimate vocation. I agree with you--that it is ok when committed, but when used as a sort of limbo... as a place where one has simply been unwilling to make a decision is wrong. In that case, a person takes a transition state, and elongates it to permanence. Good points.
